Artists Against helped us raise awareness about anti-bullying
Posted on November 21st, 2012
Today on New.Music.Live, we talked about the serious issue of bullying. Jacob Hoggard, Fefe Dobson, and Alyssa Reid joined Lauren on the couch and shared their bullying stories. Alyssa told us that she’s still being bullied to this day because as a pop star she’s in the limelight, which is an easy target for cyber-bullying. Jacob, Fefe, and Alyssa all agreed that the best thing to do is to tell someone that you’re being bullied.
Fefe Dobson and Alyssa Reid took to the stage to perform “True Colours,” a song originally recorded by Cyndi Lauper. The girls are apart of Artists Against, who are a team of Canadian artists who all recorded the track. All donations go to Kids Help Phone and you can download it now here.
We also heard stories from people who have been bullied. They were brave and shared their tough times and told us that they all found help in friends and family to get through the bullying. If you need to talk to someone, please reach out to Kids Help Phone and get more information here.
