Ahh, we’ve hit Wednesday a.k.a. hump day and what better way to get through the middle of the week than hearing a fresh new band with fresh new music? That’s right, nothing.
This week, the Princes of Our Playlist are Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Maybe you’ve heard UMO before or maybe today is your first introduction to the band, but either way their latest single “So Good at Being In Trouble” is worth listening to again and again and again. But before we get into the song…UMO are based in Portland, Oregon but lead singer Ruban Nielson was bred in New Zealand. They released their debut self-titled album in 2011 and it was quickly loved by many for their psychedelic and catchy songs. “So Good at Being In Trouble” has all of those qualities and more with the addition of an R&B, 60′s vibe. Best of all, you can hear this track while watching their new music video, which stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin from Superbad. Yes, we all still love McLovin…even though the movie came out in 2007.
Yesterday, UMO released their sophomore album II, which you can buy via their label Jagjaguwar or iTunes.
