Hello World, From New.Music.Live.’s Newest Intern

Hey everyone! I’m Mike and I am MuchMusic’s newest intern on New.Music.Live!

My first day around the office was a blast and helping around the set of New.Music.Live. is a dream come true! I’ve been a fan of MuchMusic since I learned my first words and I love New.Music.Live. because I’m addicted to music, especially new music. To get to know me as well as you know the rest of the team, check out what music I’m into below.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love Lady Gaga, and this year, especially the MMVA’s, was a big year for the current reigning Queen of Pop. She released her newest album, Born This Way, in mid-May, and performed two of her songs from the album at this year’s MuchMusic Video Awards, where I helped backstage as a talent assistant! She opened the MMVAs with “The Edge of Glory” and closed the show with my favourite performance of the night, “Born This Way. Other music favorites of mine include Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Kid CuDi, Rihanna and Eminem.

• Bruno Mars – “The Lazy Song”

Before the MMVAs, I hadn’t heard of or had quite opened up to some of the performers who actually turned out to be amazing live, and are now on heavy-rotation through my headphones. Fefe Dobson, Simple Plan, and Down With Webster absolutely killed the stage. As MuchMusic’s newest intern on New.Music.Live., I can’t wait to explore more new music, help around the set, and see more incredible live performances!
