I’m in the middle of preparing for a big night. The 2012 Polaris Music Prize Gala is happening on Monday and we’ll be airing the show on MuchMusic come Saturday, September 29th at 10 PM ET! I wouldn’t miss it… and Vancouver’s Japandroids is one of the reasons why. Their album, Celebration Rock, made the shortlist and could possibly walk away with the grand prize of $30,000!
The album is appropriately titled and takes me back to a time when I used to celebrate good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll. I admit it hasn’t been my music of choice in a long while. But there’s a lot to appreciate about what the Japandroids do and I suggest you start by listening to this uplifting song, “The House That Heaven Built”. You might think, it’s just a tour diary video?! BUT paired with this anthem of a song it just makes you feel good and it reminds me of all the reasons why I fell in love with music in the first place. You’ll be chanting this one into the wee hours of the night!
