The day finally came. After 6 years of drama, hook-ups, and scandals in the Upper East Side, Gossip Girl came to an end. It was hard to say goodbye to Serena, Dan, Blair, Chuck, and Nate but at least we have the memories! xoxo <3
We brought back Electric Circus for Halloween and it was one helluva party! T-RexXx and Liz aka Kanye and Kim hosted the big show and Rusko and The Angry Kids DJ’d. There were some wild costumes and some ever wilder dance moves!
Even though Toronto’s R&B master, The Weeknd, released 3 mixtapes last year, 2012 was Abel Tesfaye’s year. He officially released his first album, Trilogy and he got us all slow jamming to his soulful ballads.
Last year was all about fringe but this year it was all about hair chalking and ombre. All of our fave celebs like Nicki Minaj and Rachel Bilson were rocking these looks!
We couldn’t get enough of Degrassi this year! We watched it all summer long and it kept us happy in the fall too. From Dave and Tristan’s kiss in “Romeo and Jules” to Bianca and Drew walking down the aisle in Vegas, it was quite the year for our friends on Degrassi!
- Canada definitely got wind of cutie, Brit sensation Conor Maynard. He stopped by NML a few times and had all of the girls screaming! Who knew this YouTube star would get so much love across the pond!
- Finally, a movie about male strippers…amiright!? Channing Tatum starred in Magic Mike, a film loosely based on his life. We definitely couldn’t complain seeing Channing and his co-stars half naked and dancing!
You might not want to admit it but everyone was super excited for the reunion of their fave 90s girl group, the Spice Girls. Scary, Sporty, Baby, Ginger, and Posh all got together at the Summer Olympics to perform “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life.” Girl power!
Every year brings a new catchphrase and 2012 can definitely be remembered as “The Year of YOLO.” Drake takes the cake for this one as he solidified the phrase on his track, “The Motto.”
Nothing smells box office hit like comic books being reinvented into films. The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises absolutely killed it at the box office and what makes this even better is that these were actually awesome movies!
