Patti Mallette and Billy Talent Hung Out on NML Today!

We had a jam packed show on New.Music.Live. today and it was full of all different types of music. At the top of the show, Justin Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette was here talking all about what it’s like raising her pop star son. Her book Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom recently hit the shelves and Pattie told us that it’s about the struggles she went through growing up and giving birth to Justin at a young age.

We kept the music theme going with Lauren’s interview with No Doubt. She met up with the band in NYC and talked all about their career, which started back in 1986. They said not much has changed when it comes to recording their album; When they recorded Tragic Kingdom back in 1995 they were busy going to school and when they recorded Push and Shove this year they were busy raising their families. I guess they’re good at multi-tasking too!

Billy Talent joined Lauren on the couch and we got a sneak preview to their new music video for “Surprise Surprise,” which is off their latest album, Dead Silence. At the end of the show, The Wedge host and lead singer in F***ed up, Damian Abraham, talked to Lauren all about the Polaris Music Prize and said that Feist was very deserving of the grand prize of 30 000 bucks.
